Is she right? Would be REALLY nice if she is correct. At least a few Member States are on the ball and formally wrote in on time to REJECT the IHR & treaty schemes the WHO is selling.

The 2 amendments to Article 59 of the IHR which were apparently voted up in the May 2022 WHA are what we should be focussing on now. Both of these have the effect of reducing the time for rejection of any future amendments to the 2005 IHRs from 18 to 10 months, and implementation of future changes into our domestic law from 24 to 12 months.
Without the rejection of these 2 amendments, member states will only have 10 months to enquire into /consult any of the future amendments to the IHRs and and Pandemic Agreement (aka Treaty), both of which are still being negotiated. These will be brought to the May 2024 WHA for a vote. If voted up, then member states will have 10 months to give them due consideration and any rejection must occur within the 10 months for it to be valid.
As the future IHR amendments are large in number and the Pandemic Agreement is entirely new, I would think that member states would want as much time as possible to give both due consideration.
This is what will happen for all member states that do not reject the 2 Article 59 amendments by cob 30 November.
So the Malaysian Health Minister is correct.
